The torture of terrible teaching

Today was the start of week four of semester two at the University of Manchester, and I must say I don't think I have EVER felt so depressed about learning.

Why do I feel like this when I'm studying a subject I'm clearly interested in and have studied and practiced in since the age of 11? Well it's either me or them is what I have to say.

One) I've stopped being interested in the Study of Drama and also in Film Studies

or

Two) The 'teachers' just are not delivering their lectures and the information contained with in them in a remotely interesting manner. They either have never learnt how to teach, have no interest in what they're teaching, or become so involved in what it is they're teaching that they've forgotten that we don't understand what they're talking about yet.

Today we had two very interesting lectures... History and Historionics lecture on the 'In Yer Face' theatre movement of the 1990's talking about Sarah Kane and Mark Ravenhill. And then a Reading Film Lecture on Film Narratives.

I can quite honestly say, that as interesting as the lectures were I actually learnt NOTHING.

Here's How!
